Of all species of stains over carpet, coffee and tea stains can be one of the hardest to get rid of. With the thick steamy creamy mixture poured in on soft carpet fibre, it can take a lot of struggle to get rid off! Accidents do happen, and there always exists a chance that your kid or pet is going to run over the floor, and get your hot cup of coffee or tea spilled over the beautiful new carpet you just got installed. The good news is that it may seem hard, but it isn’t impossible, and if done properly can prove to be rather easy.

The first tip from our team would be to be as quick as possible whenever there is a tea spill, for the longer time you take the more struggle you’ll have to mount in order to get rid of the stain!

The first method of getting rid of tea stains is to use baking soda. The trick is simple; pour a cup of baking soda in a bowl or plate, and slowly coat the stained piece of carpet with it using a wet or damp cloth. Leave the paste over the carpet for some time, and once you think you have given it enough time, five minutes are good to go in most cases, rise it up with cold water. In case there are stains still left over, repeat the process a couple times until you are satisfied!

The second method involves salt, so what are you waiting for, let’s make the carpet a bit saltish! Firstly, remove all liquid from the carpet surface using a cloth or pad, and then put salt liberally over the surface of the stain. Cover it all with salt until you can’t actually see the stain, and then pour a bit of soda over the salt. This would start the chemical process that is going to actually clean your carpet. Let it dry by air, and then vacuum it up.

Another good way of removing tea or coffee stains is through vinegar. The method is simple; pour white vinegar over the affected area, and gently rub it over using a soft cloth. Once the stained area has been soaked properly with the vinegar, let it sit, and then rise it all up with cold water. Remove excess water using dry cloth.
